Celebrating Impact and Looking Ahead to 2026

Dear Aravanai Community, As we reflect on another year of growth, impact, and community building, we want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support. Everything we have achieved this year has been made possible because of the generosity of our donors, volunteers, sponsors, and partners who believe in our mission of empowering communities in Sri Lanka through education, entrepreneurship, and employment. UKI Continues to Transform Lives One of our proudest milestones this year was celebrating the graduation of the first UKI Batticaloa cohort. These students completed an intensive journey in software development, problem-solving, and professional skills, opening doors to new careers and opportunities. Building on this success, we also officially inaugurated the second UKI Batticaloa cohort, welcoming a new group of aspiring technologists and entrepreneurs. Seeing students, parents, mentors, and our partners at Dream Space Academy come together was a powerful reminder of why this work matters. What started as a vision to bring the acclaimed UKI model to Eastern Sri Lanka is now a reality, and we are excited to continue growing the program to the rest of Sri Lanka and supporting more youth in the years ahead. Preserving Knowledge for Future Generations This year, Aravanai supported the Noolaham Cloud Backup Initiative, helping preserve invaluable Tamil knowledge and cultural archives for future generations. The recently shared impact report demonstrates how this investment is helping ensure that important historical, literary, and educational resources remain secure, accessible, and protected for years to come. We are proud to contribute to an initiative that safeguards our collective heritage while making knowledge more accessible globally. Supporting Innovation and Student Leadership Aravanai was proud to sponsor the University of Jaffna IEEE Student Branch's "Empowering Women in Entrepreneurship" Bootcamp, bringing together students, academics, and industry leaders to inspire the next generation of women entrepreneurs. We also supported Yarl Insight 2025, helping create opportunities for students and young professionals to learn, connect, and explore emerging technologies and career pathways. These initiatives align closely with our mission of empowering youth through skills development, innovation, and mentorship. YHacks 2026 YHacks continues to be one of the region's most exciting platforms for innovation and entrepreneurship. To help students prepare for YHacks and build foundational skills, a series of pre-workshops are also being planned. Strengthening Partnerships Across Sri Lanka This year, we were excited to establish a partnership with St. John's Vocational Training Centre (SJVTC), creating opportunities to further expand educational and technology-focused programs in underserved communities. Curated 2025: A Night of Impact In October, our community once again came together at Curated 2025: A Night for Empowerment and Networking in Toronto. The event brought together professionals, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and supporters who share a common belief: that investing in education and opportunity creates lasting change. We are grateful to every attendee, donor, sponsor, volunteer, and partner who made the evening possible. Looking Ahead to 2026 Our work is far from over. As we continue supporting UKI in Batticaloa, educational programs, innovation initiatives, and community development efforts, we are also exploring opportunities to expand our reach to new regions and communities across Sri Lanka such as the central highlands. None of this is possible without sustained support.
